How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in Dimple

Most suites take one or two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. If you’re dealing with a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and selling or letting a home with an old suite, we can usually put it right, on whole bathroom suites, avocado, pampas and pink baths and coloured basins alike.

We guarantee the work for a year. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it. Look after the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a coloured suite involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing turns it white with everything left in place. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. Compared with replacing, repairing typically costs far less, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

Why us?

  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • Fixed prices from your pictures
  • Nothing taken out or refitted

For landlords and businesses

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so we keep visits short and tidy. We can work around your bookings.

Can I fix it myself?

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.

Questions from Dimple

What about the toilet?

Ask us. The inside of a bowl is always wet and scrubbed, so we will advise honestly before quoting.

Do you cover Dimple?

Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Dimple and the rest of Bolton. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it isn’t worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Of course. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

How soon can you come?

That depends on our diary for your area. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.

Will it make a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we have finished.

Can a coloured bath be made white?

Yes. We resurface it in white with it left in place.

Does someone need to be in?

We need someone to let us in. After that, you can carry on with your day.

The process

Your technician turns up at the time we agreed with you, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your pictures first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before any work starts. Most visits take one to two days for a full suite, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Each item is left to cure, usually ready the day after.

Before we arrive

  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Let us know about parking or access

Related advice

Do you need coloured bath resurfacing in Dimple?

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s generally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white

  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers
  • If travel is included in the price

Choosing a repair company

When a repair is not the answer

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.

What we work on

  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured basins

How we price coloured bath resurfacing

Prices start from £350. Prices are worked out job by job. What matters most is:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • How much damage there is
  • How many items we do on one visit

Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Quotes from your photos

Phone pictures are fine. Just ensure we can see:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Any details about the material

Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them over with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price. Quotes are free and you’re under no obligation.
