  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.

About our coloured bath resurfacing in Down Street

Most suites take one or two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, with no new plumbing or tiling. Typical jobs include faded or patchy colour and a dated coloured suite you’d like in white, in avocado, pampas and pink baths, coloured basins and coloured shower trays.

What we do, step by step

You do not need to empty the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we’ve agreed what we’re doing. Most jobs take one to two days for a full suite, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. Once cured, normally by the following day, the suite is ready.

Before we arrive

  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Point us to the nearest place to park

Advice

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a coloured suite means a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Refinishing it in white turns it white without taking anything out. Prices start from £350. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Why Down Street customers choose us

  • Same prices wherever you are
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Colour-matched on site

Common questions in Down Street

Will you leave a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.

Can pets and children be at home?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes, frequently. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Do I have to be there?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Normally, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Generally, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.

Do you charge for travel?

We do not add a call-out fee. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

Your quote covers the damage in the pictures. If there is more, we will tell you before starting.

  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • Aftercare advice
  • How the colour is matched

10 questions to ask before booking

DIY kit or professional repair?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price depends on:

  • The material and finish
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Access to the area
  • How much damage there is

We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Send photos for a quote

When you take your photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • One picture of the whole suite

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the whole suite, we can price the job the same day in most cases.
