Coloured bath resurfacing for Downpatrick homes

Coloured bath resurfacing in Downpatrick without replacing anything

A full suite is usually done in one to two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, with no new plumbing or tiling. Whether it’s faded or patchy colour and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom, we can help, whatever the material.

Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do. Look after the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

The process

Your technician turns up at the time we agreed with you, introduces themselves and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. The work itself takes one to two days for a full suite, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray on the new finish in white or your chosen colour.
  5. Once cured, normally by the next day, the suite is ready.

Preparing for the visit

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children

DIY repairs versus a professional job

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

How we price coloured bath resurfacing

Prices start from £350. We give every job a fixed price from photos. These are the things that affect it:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The type of damage
  • The colour and finish to match
  • The material

The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. You’ll see the full price before you book, with nothing added on the day.

Send photos for a quote

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Please include:

  • Any details about the material
  • A wider photo showing the whole suite
  • Details of any past repairs
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

If you are in Downpatrick and want a price, the easiest route is photos: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. You’ll get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.

Downpatrick questions

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Yes, almost always. Clear photos let us give you a fixed price without visiting.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Normally, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it isn’t worth repairing, we will tell you.

Can a coloured bath be made white?

Yes. It’s resurfaced in white where it stands.

Is there a call-out fee?

Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Can tenants book a repair?

Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

Can you do the toilet too?

Talk to us first. The inside of a bowl is always wet and scrubbed, so we will advise honestly before quoting.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include pictures of each item.

Common problems we fix in Downpatrick

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and many are still sound. It’s usually the colour that dates them, not the condition.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom

What to look for in a quote

  • A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
  • If travel is included in the price
  • What happens if they find more damage
  • What prep work is covered

Choosing a repair company

Landlord and trade work in Downpatrick

If you manage property in Downpatrick, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send photos for each one and we will come back with a combined price.

Letting agents often send us pictures straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Repairing versus replacing in Downpatrick

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one means new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white changes the colour without taking anything out. Prices start from £350. Compared with replacing, a repair is usually a fraction of the price, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

What a repair can’t fix

Some jobs aren’t right for a repair, for example:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before booking.
