Coloured bath resurfacing in Duporth

How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in Duporth

Most suites take one or two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there is no plumbing or tiling. We’re often asked to fix a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom and a dated coloured suite you’d like in white, in coloured shower trays, avocado, pampas and pink baths and whole bathroom suites.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there’s a problem and we’ll come back. Care for the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

Repair or replace in Duporth?

Replacing a coloured suite involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white turns it white with everything left in place. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Why Duporth customers choose us

  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • Free fixed quotes from pictures
  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
  • Work done at your home or business

For landlords and businesses

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Duporth use us as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

When to call us in Duporth

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and many are still sound. The problem is usually the colour, not the bath.

If you can see any of these, send us a picture:

  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

What to look for in a quote

  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • What aftercare is recommended
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • What protection goes down before work starts

What we cannot put right

In fairness, some problems need a different fix:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before booking.

What we work on

  • Coloured shower trays
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured basins

The process

There’s not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will get on with it. The job generally runs to one to two days for a full suite, including clearing up.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray on the new finish in white or your chosen colour.
  5. We leave everything to cure, usually until the next day.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. You will know the full cost before booking. We look at:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • How many items we do on one visit

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

How to get a fixed quote

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Details of any past repairs

The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of pictures using our quote form or ring us. We’ll say straight away if a repair is the right fix.

Common questions in Duporth

Can you price it without visiting?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures cannot show what we need.

Can pets and children be at home?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as homeowners in Duporth.

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

Yes, we frequently do. Removing the old work can add time, and that is in the quote.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and we will quote them together.

How do I book?

Photos of the damage, a picture of the entire suite and your postcode. Then we will agree a date.

Do you cover the entire of Cornwall?

All of Cornwall, and the rest of the UK. Travel is included in the price.

How soon can you come?

That depends on our diary for your area. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.
