When to call us in Enfield Wash

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s generally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • Faded or patchy colour
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white

Before you book anyone

  • How your room will be protected
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers
  • How long it needs to cure

Coloured bath resurfacing in Enfield Wash without replacing anything

Most suites take one or two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, with no new plumbing or tiling. Our technicians work on coloured basins, coloured shower trays and avocado, pampas and pink baths, and people most often call us about selling or letting a home with an old suite and a dated coloured suite you’d like in white.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Enfield Wash as everywhere else we work. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

For landlords and businesses

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Hertfordshire and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so we keep visits short and tidy. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

Where we work around Enfield Wash

Enfield Wash is about 2 miles north-east of Enfield, in Hertfordshire. Anywhere in EN3, we carry out the work at your property. Enfield Wash is one of 381 towns and villages in Hertfordshire where we work. We work right across the region, from Enfield Wash to London (12 miles away).

Our repair technicians cover all of EN3 and EN1 and the streets around it. Whether you live on Hoe Lane, Old Road and East Road or a nearby road, we can come to you. We also cover the places around Enfield Wash: Enfield Highway (1 mile south), Enfield Lock (1 mile east), Bullsmoor (1 mile north-west), Freezywater (1 mile north-east) and Brimsdown (1 mile south-east). Repair or replace in Enfield Wash?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one means a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Resurfacing turns it white without taking anything out. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. A repair generally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send pictures and we will give you the exact figure.

Why book with us

  • Same prices wherever you are
  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job
  • A year’s guarantee on all work

Read our prices page and guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. We give every job a fixed price from pictures. This is what makes a difference:

  • How much damage there is
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for Enfield Wash. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

How to get a fixed price

The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • One picture of the entire suite
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection

You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

The process

You don’t need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and start once you’re happy with the plan. Most jobs take a day or two, depending on how many items, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. We leave everything to cure, usually until the day after.

Preparing for the visit

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access

Ask for a price

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Enfield Wash questions

Is my repair covered?

Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Which areas do you work in?

All of Hertfordshire, and the rest of the UK. Travel is included in the price.

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

Most of the time. Tell us what was done before.

Can you do the toilet too?

Ask us. The inside of a bowl is always wet and scrubbed, so we’ll tell you what will last.

Can you quote from pictures?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures cannot show what we need.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Landlords are often glad to have it sorted.

Are you accredited?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes, frequently. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Honest limits

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before booking.
