How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in Exeter

Everything is resurfaced where it stands, with no new plumbing or tiling. Most suites take one or two days. Whether it’s selling or letting a home with an old suite and faded or patchy colour, we can typically put it right.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

DIY kit or professional repair?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

What we can’t put right

Some jobs aren’t right for a repair, including:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.

Materials we repair

  • Coloured shower trays
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured basins

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a coloured suite means a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Refinishing it in white changes the colour without taking anything out. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Exeter. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Why Exeter customers choose us

  • A fixed quote before you book
  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Straight answers about what a repair can do

Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How many items we do on one visit

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. You will see the full price before booking.

Quotes from your pictures

Before you send photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • A photo taken from further back

There’s no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

When to call us in Exeter

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s normally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

If you can see any of these, send us a photo:

  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white

What your quote should include

  • When it can be used again
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • How your room will be protected
  • Who turns up on the day

10 questions to ask before you book

What we do, step by step

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and start once you’re happy with the plan. It typically takes one to two days for a full suite, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. Each item is left to cure, usually ready the day after.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Ensure the area is dry
