Trusted coloured bath resurfacing in Forbes

Coloured bath resurfacing in Forbes without replacing anything

A full suite is generally done in one to two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there is no plumbing or tiling. Typical jobs include a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom and faded or patchy colour, on coloured shower trays, avocado, pampas and pink baths and coloured basins.

Every job is backed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back. Care for the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

Common problems we fix in Forbes

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and many are still sound. The problem is usually the colour, not the bath.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

What your quote should include

  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • How soon you can use it again
  • What aftercare is recommended

Choosing a repair company

Repair or replace in Forbes?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one means a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Refinishing it in white changes the colour without taking anything out. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.

What you get with us

  • One visit for most repairs
  • Colour-matched on site
  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish

What we do, step by step

There is not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll get on with it. The job generally runs to one to two days for a full suite, including clearing up.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Once cured, normally by the day after, the suite is ready.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Open a window if you can
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

How to get a price

DIY repairs versus a professional job

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

When we’d advise against a repair

We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair can’t fix:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.

Surfaces we repair

  • Coloured shower trays
  • Coloured basins
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths

Forbes questions

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We carry out repairs for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses across Aberdeenshire.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it isn’t worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

Do you cover the whole of Aberdeenshire?

We work UK-wide, so Forbes is covered. Prices do not change with location.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.

What about the toilet?

Talk to us first. A toilet bowl is constantly wet, so we will tell you what will last.

Can a coloured bath be made white?

Yes. We resurface it in white with it left in place.

Do you hold any accreditations?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

What does coloured bath resurfacing cost?

Resurfacing from £350. The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from photos. You’ll get a fixed figure before you book.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. We charge the same across the UK, including Forbes. What changes the price is:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • How many areas need work

The price depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Getting a price from pictures

Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • One picture of the entire suite
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them to us with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price. There’s no charge for the quote and no obligation.

For landlords and businesses

For anyone letting property in or around Forbes, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send photos for each one and we’ll come back with a combined price.

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. We can visit several plots in one trip.
