How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in Fulford

Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. A full suite is normally done in one to two days. If you are dealing with faded or patchy colour and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom, we can usually put it right.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything is not right, ring us and we will sort it. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

Signs you need coloured bath resurfacing in Fulford

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. The problem is normally the colour, not the bath.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom

10 questions to ask before you book

Fulford: your questions answered

Do you cover Fulford?

Yes. We work across the UK and come to Fulford. Send pictures and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Can pets and children be at home?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, so the repair isn’t disturbed while it cures.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as homeowners across Staffordshire.

Do I need to be at home?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.

What happens next?

We look at the photos and reply with a fixed price and some dates. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask for another photo.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

If we find something the pictures didn’t show, we explain it first. The price only changes if you agree.

Do you charge for travel?

We do not add a call-out fee. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.

When can you do it?

Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • How many areas need work
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • The type of damage
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Fulford. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what helps:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A wider photo showing the whole suite

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the whole suite, include your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

For landlords and businesses

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Letting agents often send us pictures straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.

Honest limits

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.

Materials we repair

  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured basins

Repairing versus replacing in Fulford

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one means a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Refinishing it in white changes the colour without taking anything out. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

What you get with us

  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • Free fixed quotes from pictures
  • Repair technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • Same prices wherever you are

What we do, step by step

We turn up when we said we would and checks the damage against your pictures first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before any work starts. The work itself takes a day or two, depending on how many items, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. We leave everything to cure, generally until the day after.

How to prepare

  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Ensure the area is dry

How to get a price

There’s no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.
