Coloured bath resurfacing at your home in Galleywood

We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. Most suites take one or two days. If you are dealing with a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom and selling or letting a home with an old suite, we can generally put it right, whatever the material.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Galleywood as everywhere else we work. Care for the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

Work for landlords and builders

If you manage property in Galleywood, we will quote for several properties at once. Just send pictures for each address and we will price them together.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Essex and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Repairing versus replacing in Galleywood

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Refinishing it in white turns it white without taking anything out. Prices start from £350. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Why us?

  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • One visit for most repairs
  • Colour-matched on site
  • Same prices wherever you are

Read our prices page and resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.

Honest limits

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Coloured shower trays
  • Coloured basins
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Whole bathroom suites

How we price coloured bath resurfacing

Prices start from £350. Each job gets its own fixed price. This is what makes a difference:

  • How much damage there is
  • What the surface is made of
  • The type of damage
  • Unusual colours or finishes

What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.

Quotes from your pictures

The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • A photo taken from further back
  • Any details about the material
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size

We price from photos so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through.

Signs you need coloured bath resurfacing in Galleywood

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. The problem is usually the colour, not the bath.

These are the problems we’re asked about most:

  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

What to look for in a quote

  • Whether a trained technician does the job
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the photos show
  • What prep work is covered
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?

Our hiring checklist

Can I fix it myself?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

FAQs for Galleywood

Do you charge for travel?

Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Will you leave a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.

What about the toilet?

Ask us. A toilet bowl is constantly wet, so we’ll tell you what will last.

Can pets and children be at home?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit. The rest of the house is unaffected.

Do the materials smell?

Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, so we ventilate the room. It fades as everything cures.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

When can you do it?

Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Can you price it without visiting?

Normally, yes. Clear pictures let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.

What happens on the day

When we visit, we arrive at the time we have agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take a day or two, depending on how many items. We tidy up before we leave and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Each item is left to cure, generally ready the next day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access

Getting a price

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the suite, add your postcode and send them over. You will get a fixed quote, not an estimate.
