Coloured bath resurfacing in Grimsargh

Coloured bath resurfacing in Grimsargh, done in place

Most suites take one or two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there is no plumbing or tiling. Whether it’s faded or patchy colour and a dated coloured suite you’d like in white, we can help.

You are covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before you book. Look after the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

What coloured bath resurfacing costs

Prices start from £350. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:

  • The material
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Send pictures for a quote

Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To make it quick:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Details of any past repairs
  • What it’s made of, if you know

There’s no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

Grimsargh: your questions answered

Can I get a quote without a visit?

In nearly every case. If pictures don’t show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we are working in. We’ll tell you when the room can be used again.

Can landlords book you?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as homeowners in Grimsargh.

Do you charge for travel?

No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.

How do I book?

Send pictures through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we’ll do the rest.

What happens next?

We review the photos and send a fixed quote and the next dates we have.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Typically, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Can you turn my avocado bath white?

Yes. We resurface it in white with it left in place.

Common problems we fix in Grimsargh

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and many are still sound. The problem is normally the colour, not the bath.

If you can see any of these, send us a photo:

  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour

Should you replace it?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Resurfacing turns it white with everything left in place. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Why choose Surface Doctor in Grimsargh

  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK
  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • Everything repaired in place

See our prices page or guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

Honest limits

It helps to know what we can’t do:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before booking.

What we work on

  • Coloured basins
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths

What happens on the day

On the day, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job generally takes one to two days for a full suite. We clean up when we are done and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. The surface is prepared and primed.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Each item is left to cure, usually ready the day after.

Preparing for the visit

  • Open a window if you can
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
