Common problems we fix in Hadlow

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s generally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

Look out for any of the following:

  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

What to look for in a quote

  • How changes to the job are handled
  • What prep work is covered
  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • How the room is protected while they work

Coloured bath resurfacing at your home in Hadlow

A full suite is typically done in one to two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. We work on avocado, pampas and pink baths, whole bathroom suites and coloured shower trays, and common reasons people contact us are a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and faded or patchy colour.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Hadlow as everywhere else we work. Care for the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

Hadlow: your questions answered

How much does coloured bath resurfacing cost in Hadlow?

Resurfacing from £350. The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from pictures. You will get a fixed figure before booking.

Is there any odour?

It depends on the job, but frequently a little. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

When can you do it?

That depends on our diary for your area. Send pictures with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

Your quote covers the damage in the photos. If there’s more, we’ll tell you before starting.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

Can a coloured bath be made white?

Yes. It’s resurfaced in white where it stands.

Can you do the toilet too?

Ask us. The inside of a bowl is always wet and scrubbed, so we’ll tell you what will last.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one means new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing turns it white with everything left in place. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

How the visit works

Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you know when to expect us. On site, it takes a day or two, depending on how many items for most jobs. We leave the room clean and you will know when it can be used.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. Each item is left to cure, normally ready the next day.

Before we arrive

  • Open a window if you can
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

Getting a price

Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price. Quotes are free and you’re under no obligation.

Can I fix it myself?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.

What a repair can’t fix

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair won’t do:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before you book.

What we work on

  • Coloured shower trays
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured basins

What coloured bath resurfacing costs

Prices start from £350. There is no area surcharge for Hadlow. What changes the price is:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The material
  • How much damage there is

Compared with replacing, repairing usually costs far less, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

Quotes from your photos

The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what helps:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • A wider photo showing the entire suite

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the whole suite, include your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.
