What we’re called out for in Hanthorpe

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and many are still sound. It’s generally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Faded or patchy colour

Questions to ask before booking

  • How changes to the job are handled
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • How the colour is matched
  • What prep work is covered

Our hiring checklist

About our coloured bath resurfacing in Hanthorpe

A full suite is usually done in one to two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. We work on avocado, pampas and pink baths, whole bathroom suites and coloured shower trays, and common reasons people get in touch are a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and faded or patchy colour.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you are not left on your own once we’ve gone. Care for the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

For landlords and businesses

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

If you manage property in Hanthorpe, we will quote for several properties at once. Send photos for each one and we’ll come back with a combined price.

When we would advise against a repair

Before booking, it’s worth knowing the limits too:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Coloured basins
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Whole bathroom suites

Should you replace it?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one means a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Refinishing it in white turns it white without taking anything out. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

What you get with us

  • Straight answers about what a repair can do
  • Typically one visit, start to finish
  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
  • One price list for the whole UK

Take a look at our prices page or guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.

What happens on the day

There is not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will get on with it. The job generally runs to one to two days for a full suite, tidy-up included.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Each item is left to cure, usually ready the next day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before

Get a quote

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the suite, include your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

Advice

What affects the price in Hanthorpe

Resurfacing from £350. We give every job a fixed quote from pictures. This is what makes a difference:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

Compared with replacing, a repair is usually a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

How to get a fixed price

The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • A wider photo showing the whole suite
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • The material, if you know it

For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.
