Coloured bath resurfacing in Haydon

Coloured bath resurfacing at your home in Haydon

A full suite is generally done in one to two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there is no plumbing or tiling. We regularly repair coloured shower trays, whole bathroom suites and avocado, pampas and pink baths, and common reasons people contact us are a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and selling or letting a home with an old suite.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee. Care for the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

When to call us in Haydon

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and many are still sound. It’s normally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

These are the problems we’re asked about most:

  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

Before booking anyone

  • How the room is protected while they work
  • A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the photos show
  • How soon you can use it again

10 questions to ask before you book

Should I try a DIY kit first?

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a coloured suite means new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white changes the colour without taking anything out. Prices start from £350. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Why us?

  • Normally one visit, start to finish
  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Work done at your home or business

What happens on the day

We agree an arrival time beforehand. Once we’re there, the work takes a day or two, depending on how many items for most jobs. We leave the room clean and you’ll know when it can be used.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. We leave everything to cure, usually until the next day.

Before we arrive

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Ensure the room can be ventilated
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work

Haydon questions

What happens after I send pictures?

You will get a fixed quote back, plus dates. There is no obligation to book.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. You decide whether to go ahead.

Do the materials smell?

Expect a mild smell while we are working, which fades afterwards.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit generally costs less than separate visits. Include pictures of each item.

How do I book?

Photos of the damage, a photo of the whole suite and your postcode. Then we will agree a date.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged before the end of a tenancy.

Do you work in Haydon?

Yes. We cover the whole UK and come to Haydon and the rest of Somerset. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it isn’t worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

For landlords and businesses

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. We can visit several plots in one trip.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

When we’d advise against a repair

Some jobs are not right for a repair, including:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Coloured basins
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured shower trays

Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. There’s no area surcharge for Haydon. What changes the price is:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Access to the area

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

How to get a fixed price

Two or three clear photos are usually enough. It helps if you send:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • One picture of the whole suite
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size

Email us pictures of the damage and one of the whole item, and tell us you’re in Haydon, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.
