Need coloured bath resurfacing in Hilltop?

Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. You’ll know the full cost before you book. We take into account:

  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • The colour and finish to match
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Send photos for a quote

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Please include:

  • A wider photo showing the whole suite
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • The material, if you know it
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and you will get a fixed quote back. Quotes are free and no obligation.

About our coloured bath resurfacing in Hilltop

Most suites take one or two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. We regularly repair coloured basins, coloured shower trays and avocado, pampas and pink baths, and the jobs we see most are a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom and selling or letting a home with an old suite.

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. Look after the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

When to call us in Hilltop

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s generally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

Send us a photo if you notice any of these:

  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

What to look for in a quote

  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • Aftercare advice
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long

How to compare quotes

Questions from Hilltop

Can you price it without visiting?

Nearly always. If pictures don’t show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Of course, and it normally saves money. Just add the extra items to your photos and you’ll get one combined price.

How soon can you come?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

What does coloured bath resurfacing cost?

Prices start from £350. We give a fixed quote from your pictures. Send a close-up and a picture of the entire item with your NP23 postcode.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

What about the toilet?

Ask us. The inside of a bowl is always wet and scrubbed, so we will tell you what will last.

Do you come to Hilltop?

Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Hilltop. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

What happens if you find more damage?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. The price only changes if you agree.

Repair or replace in Hilltop?

Replacing a coloured suite means a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Refinishing it in white changes the colour without taking anything out. Prices start from £350. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Why us?

  • We leave the room as we found it
  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • Fixed prices from your pictures
  • Nothing taken out or refitted

See our prices page and resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.

What we do, step by step

When we visit, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job generally takes a day or two, depending on how many items. We tidy up before we leave and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. The surface is prepared and primed.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. Each item is left to cure, normally ready the day after.

How to prepare

  • Open a window if you can
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive

Landlord and trade work in Hilltop

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

When we’d advise against a repair

Not everything can be repaired, and we’ll tell you before we start. Repairs won’t solve:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

What we work on
