Coloured bath resurfacing in Idle, done in place
Most suites take one or two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. Common call-outs are for a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and faded or patchy colour, across whole bathroom suites, avocado, pampas and pink baths and coloured shower trays.
We guarantee the work for a year. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

How it works
It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, protect the area, then carry out the work, which normally takes one to two days for a full suite. If we find something your pictures didn’t show, we’ll explain it before carrying on.
- We protect the room and ventilate it.
- Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
- We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
- We spray on the new finish in white or your chosen colour.
- Once cured, normally by the day after, the suite is ready.
How to prepare
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Clear the area around the damage
How to get a price
The quickest way to a price is to send two or three pictures using our quote form or call us. We’ll tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.

For landlords and businesses
Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. Several plots can be done in one visit.
We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.

How we price coloured bath resurfacing
Resurfacing from £350. You will not pay by the hour. The price is based on:
- How much damage there is
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- How many items we do on one visit
- The material
Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Idle. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.
How to get a fixed price
Phone photos are fine, there’s no need for anything special. Ensure they show:
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- Where you are, by postcode
- A photo taken from further back
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them over with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed quote back. There’s no charge for the quote and you are under no obligation.
Should you replace it?
Replacing a coloured suite means new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white turns it white without taking anything out. Prices start from £350. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

When to call us in Idle
Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and many are still sound. The problem is usually the colour, not the bath.
Signs it’s time to call us include:
- Faded or patchy colour
- A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
- Selling or letting a home with an old suite
- A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
Questions to ask before you book
- A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
- What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
- How the colour is matched
- What the guarantee covers, and for how long
What we can’t put right
A repair isn’t always the answer, and we’d rather say so up front. We can’t fix:
- The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
- Items cracked right through
- Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)
Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.
What we work on
- Coloured basins
- Avocado, pampas and pink baths
- Whole bathroom suites
- Coloured shower trays
Should I try a DIY kit first?
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.
