Coloured bath resurfacing in Jarrow

DIY kit or professional repair?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is generally the cheaper route.

About our coloured bath resurfacing in Jarrow

Everything is resurfaced where it stands, with no new plumbing or tiling. Most suites take one or two days. We work on coloured basins, avocado, pampas and pink baths and whole bathroom suites, and the jobs we see most are selling or letting a home with an old suite and faded or patchy colour.

You are covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before you book. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

Jarrow questions

How do I book?

Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787, and we will do the rest.

Is my repair covered?

Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

What about the toilet?

Ask us. A toilet bowl is constantly wet, so we’ll advise honestly before quoting.

Can a coloured bath be made white?

Yes. We resurface it in white with it left in place.

How soon can you come?

Your quote comes with available dates. If it’s urgent, say so and we’ll do what we can.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Generally, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes, and it’s frequently cheaper. Just add the extra items to your pictures and we’ll quote them together.

Are you accredited?

We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Jarrow

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

What coloured bath resurfacing costs

Prices start from £350. We charge the same across the UK, including Jarrow. The price reflects:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • What the surface is made of
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • The size and number of damaged areas

Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Jarrow. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

How to get a fixed quote

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • A picture taken from further back
  • Any details about the material

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the suite, include your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

When a repair is not the answer

Not everything can be repaired, and we’ll tell you before we start. Repairs will not solve:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Coloured basins
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured shower trays

Repair or replace in Jarrow?

Replacing a coloured suite involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing turns it white with everything left in place. Prices start from £350. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Why book with us

  • Everything repaired in place
  • Free fixed quotes from pictures
  • One visit for most repairs
  • No extra charge for your area

How the visit works

Here’s how a visit typically runs: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and tidy away. Plan for a day or two, depending on how many items from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Each item is left to cure, usually ready the following day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

When to call us in Jarrow

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s normally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

Most people contact us after spotting one of these:

  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom

What your quote should include

  • Whether the price covers travel
  • How to care for the finish
  • How the room is protected while they work
  • Whether a trained technician does the job
