Coloured bath resurfacing in Knotting

Coloured bath resurfacing in Knotting without replacing anything

A full suite is usually done in one to two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there is no plumbing or tiling. We work on coloured shower trays, avocado, pampas and pink baths and whole bathroom suites, and people most often call us about faded or patchy colour and selling or letting a home with an old suite.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we’ll come back. Look after the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

What affects the price in Knotting

Prices start from £350. There’s no charge for travel to Knotting. The price depends on:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • The material and finish

Compared with replacing, a repair is usually a fraction of the price, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Getting a price from pictures

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:

  • The material, if you know it
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area

For a price in Knotting, the easiest route is pictures: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

Questions from Knotting

Will the price change on the day?

If we find something the photos didn’t show, we explain it first. You decide whether to go ahead.

Can you price it without visiting?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the photos can’t show what we need.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we’re working in. We will let you know when it’s safe to use again.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes, often. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Can you turn my avocado bath white?

Yes. We resurface it in white with it left in place.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

What happens after I send photos?

You will get a fixed quote back. You’re under no obligation.

Repair or replace in Knotting?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Refinishing it in white turns it white with everything left in place. Prices start from £350. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Why us?

  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • One visit for most repairs
  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • No need to remove anything

What happens on the day

On the day, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. The job normally takes one to two days for a full suite. We tidy up before we leave and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Once cured, normally by the following day, the suite is ready.

Before we arrive

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Let us know about parking or access

How to get a price

The quickest way to a price is to send two or three pictures using our quote form or ring us. We’ll say right away whether it can be repaired.

Advice

When to call us in Knotting

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s typically the colour that dates them, not the condition.

Keep an eye out for any of the following:

  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white

What your quote should include

  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • What happens if they find more damage
  • What preparation is included
  • Whether the price covers travel

10 questions to ask before booking

When we would advise against a repair

A repair isn’t always the answer, and we’d rather say so up front. Repairs will not solve:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.

Surfaces we repair

  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured basins
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured shower trays

Landlords, agents and businesses in Knotting

Letting agents often send us photos straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.
