Coloured bath resurfacing at your home in Little Germany

A full suite is usually done in one to two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. We work on coloured basins, whole bathroom suites and coloured shower trays, and common reasons people contact us are selling or letting a home with an old suite and faded or patchy colour.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back. Look after the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

What coloured bath resurfacing costs

Prices start from £350. Each job gets its own fixed quote. These are the things that affect it:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • The material
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • What kind of damage it is

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Quotes from your photos

When you take your pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

If you’re in Little Germany and want a price, photos are the quickest way: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

The process

Once we are through the door, we keep the work contained to the one room. We mask off everything nearby, the work takes a day or two, depending on how many items, depending on what we find, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray on the new finish in white or your chosen colour.
  5. Once cured, normally by the following day, the suite is ready.

How to prepare

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the whole suite, include your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a coloured suite means new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing changes the colour with everything left in place. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Set against the cost of replacement, repairing usually costs far less, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

When to call us in Little Germany

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s normally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

People usually call us after spotting one of these:

  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white

Before booking anyone

  • Who will actually do the work
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers

Common questions in Little Germany

Are there extra charges for Little Germany?

No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we’re working in. We will let you know when it’s safe to use again.

Does someone need to be in?

We need someone to let us in. You don’t need to watch us work.

Can you quote from photos?

In nearly every case. If pictures do not show enough, we will ask for another angle.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Typically, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we will say so.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Of course, and it normally saves money. Send pictures of everything together and you’ll get one combined price.

Is there any odour?

Expect a mild smell while we’re working.

What happens once I’ve sent pictures?

You get a fixed quote and available dates. If we need another angle, we will ask.

What we cannot put right

We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Coloured basins
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

For landlords and businesses

For anyone letting property in or around Little Germany, we will quote for several properties at once. Send photos for each one and we’ll come back with a combined price.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.
