How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in Little Heath

We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. Most suites take one or two days. We work on coloured shower trays, coloured basins and avocado, pampas and pink baths, and people most often call us about selling or letting a home with an old suite and a dated coloured suite you’d like in white.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back. Care for the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

Letting agents frequently send us photos straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

What affects the price in Little Heath

Prices start from £350. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • How much damage there is
  • Access to the area
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

Rather than charging by the hour, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access.

Send photos for a quote

  • Details of any past repairs

What we are called out for in Little Heath

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and many are still sound. The problem is typically the colour, not the bath.

Most people get in touch when they notice something like this:

  • Faded or patchy colour
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom

How to compare quotes

Should I try a DIY kit first?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

Repairing versus replacing in Little Heath

Replacing a coloured suite involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Resurfacing changes the colour with everything left in place. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Compared with replacing, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

Why us?

  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor

Take a look at our prices page and resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.

What we cannot put right

To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured basins

What we do, step by step

When we visit, we arrive at the time we have agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take a day or two, depending on how many items. We tidy up before we leave and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. The surface is prepared and primed.
  4. We spray on the new finish in white or your chosen colour.
  5. Once cured, normally by the next day, the suite is ready.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
