How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in Llwyncelyn

We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there is no plumbing or tiling. Most suites take one or two days. Whether it’s selling or letting a home with an old suite and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom, we can normally put it right, on whole bathroom suites, avocado, pampas and pink baths and coloured shower trays alike.

Whatever the size of the job, you get the same one-year guarantee in Llwyncelyn and across Swansea. Care for the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

What a repair cannot fix

Some jobs are not right for a repair, including:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before you book.

Materials we work on in Llwyncelyn

  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured basins
  • Coloured shower trays

Work for landlords and builders

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

Letting agents often send us pictures straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Can I fix it myself?

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.

How the visit works

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, carry out the work and tidy away. Plan for a day or two, depending on how many items. Before we go, we’ll explain how long to leave it and how to care for it.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Each item is left to cure, usually ready the next day.

How to prepare

  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

Should you replace it?

Replacing a coloured suite means new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing turns it white without taking anything out. Prices start from £350. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Why us?

  • A fixed quote before you book
  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • Rooms protected and left tidy

When to call us in Llwyncelyn

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. The problem is usually the colour, not the bath.

Most people contact us when they notice something like this:

  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour

Comparing quotes

  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • What prep work is covered
  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?

Questions from Llwyncelyn

Is there a call-out fee?

Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.

What happens after I send photos?

We look at the photos and reply with a fixed quote and some dates. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask for another photo.

Can a coloured bath be made white?

Yes. We resurface it in white with it left in place.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Can you do the toilet too?

Talk to us first. The inside of a bowl is always wet and scrubbed, so we’ll tell you what will last.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Of course. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

What do you need from me?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

What areas do you cover?

We work UK-wide. Prices do not change with location.

Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. We give every job a fixed price from pictures. This is what makes a difference:

  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • What the surface is made of
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Llwyncelyn. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Getting a price from pictures

Two or three clear photos are generally enough. It helps if you send:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • The material, if you know it

You do not need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.
