How we price coloured bath resurfacing
Resurfacing from £350. We give every job a fixed price from pictures. These are the things that affect it:
- Access to the area
- Unusual colours or finishes
- How much damage there is
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send photos and we’ll give you the exact figure.
How to get a fixed quote
Two or three clear pictures are normally enough. Try to include:
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- A photo taken from further back
- Any details about the material
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can give you a fixed quote the same day in most cases.
How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in Long Line
Most suites take one or two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. We are often asked to fix a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom and faded or patchy colour, on coloured basins, avocado, pampas and pink baths and coloured shower trays.
Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. Look after the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

The process
Here’s how a visit normally runs: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and clear up. Plan for one to two days for a full suite. Before leaving, we tell you when it can be used and how to look after it.
- First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
- We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
- The surface is prepared and primed.
- We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
- Once cured, normally by the day after, the suite is ready.
How to prepare
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Open a window if you can
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

Advice
Long Line: your questions answered
Do you charge for travel?
We don’t add a call-out fee. Your fixed quote includes everything.
Are you a vetted contractor?
We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.
Do you come to Long Line?
Yes, we do. Technicians travel to Long Line from across the region, with no extra charge for travel.
Can you repair something that is been repaired before?
Yes, we frequently do. Removing the old work can add time, and that’s in the quote.
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
Typically, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we will say so.
I’m a tenant. Can you help?
Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Landlords are frequently glad to have it sorted before the end of a tenancy.
Will it make a mess?
Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.
What happens once I’ve sent pictures?
We look at the photos and reply with a fixed price and some dates. If anything’s unclear, we will ask for another photo.
Repairing versus replacing in Long Line
Replacing a coloured suite means a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Refinishing it in white turns it white without taking anything out. Prices start from £350. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.
Why book with us
- Dust sheets down, tidy finish
- No extra charge for your area
- Honest advice, even when it means no job
- We come to you, anywhere in the UK

DIY kit or professional repair?
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.
When a repair isn’t the answer
A repair isn’t right for every job, for example:
- The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
- Items cracked right through
- Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)
Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.
Surfaces we repair
- Coloured shower trays
- Whole bathroom suites
- Coloured basins
- Avocado, pampas and pink baths
When to call us in Long Line
Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s typically the colour that dates them, not the condition.
People generally call us when they notice something like this:
- A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
- Selling or letting a home with an old suite
- Faded or patchy colour
- A suite that does not match a new bathroom
Before booking anyone
