Coloured bath resurfacing near Marsh Gibbon

About our coloured bath resurfacing in Marsh Gibbon

Most suites take one or two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there is no plumbing or tiling. We regularly repair coloured basins, whole bathroom suites and coloured shower trays, and people most frequently call us about a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom.

Big or small, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee. Care for the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we look at:

  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • How much damage there is
  • The material and finish
  • How easy the damage is to reach

Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Getting a price from pictures

Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • One picture of the whole suite

Most customers in Marsh Gibbon get their price from photos. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.

What a repair cannot fix

A repair isn’t right for every job, for example:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Materials we repair

  • Coloured basins
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths

Work for landlords and builders

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

For anyone letting property in or around Marsh Gibbon, we will quote for several properties at once. Just send photos for each address and we will price them together.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a coloured suite involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white changes the colour without taking anything out. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Why book with us

  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK

See our pricing and guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.

The process

Once we’re through the door, we keep the work contained to the one room. We mask off everything nearby, the work takes one to two days for a full suite, depending on what we find, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. Each item is left to cure, usually ready the next day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children

10 questions to ask before you book

Marsh Gibbon: your questions answered

Can you do the toilet too?

Talk to us first. The inside of a bowl is always wet and scrubbed, so we will tell you what will last.

Is it messy?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.

What information do you need?

Photos of the damage, a photo of the whole suite and your postcode. Then we will agree a date.

Are you accredited?

We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.

Can you turn my avocado bath white?

Yes. It’s resurfaced in white where it stands.

What does coloured bath resurfacing cost?

Resurfacing from £350. We give a fixed price based on pictures of the damage. Send a close-up and a picture of the whole item and your postcode.

DIY kit or professional repair?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
