About our coloured bath resurfacing in Melness

Most suites take one or two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, with no new plumbing or tiling. Whether it’s faded or patchy colour and a dated coloured suite you’d like in white, we can help, on coloured shower trays, avocado, pampas and pink baths and whole bathroom suites alike.

You are covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote. Care for the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

How it works

You do not need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and start once you’re happy with the plan. Most jobs take one to two days for a full suite, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Each item is left to cure, usually ready the day after.

How to prepare

  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

How to get a price

There’s no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.

What a repair can’t fix

A repair is not always the answer, and we’d rather say so up front. Repairs will not solve:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

What we work on

  • Coloured basins
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths

DIY kit or professional repair?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.

Landlord and trade work in Melness

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We can work around your bookings.

Questions from Melness

Does someone need to be in?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.

Is my repair covered?

Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

What areas do you cover?

We cover the whole UK, including Melness and the rest of Highland. Send your postcode with your pictures and we’ll confirm dates.

Will you leave a mess?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we have finished.

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

Yes, we often do. Removing the old work can add time, and that’s in the quote.

When can you do it?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.

Will there be a smell?

Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the materials cure.

Is there a call-out fee?

No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Repairing versus replacing in Melness

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one means a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Refinishing it in white changes the colour with everything left in place. Prices start from £350. We do not add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

What you get with us

  • Normally one visit, start to finish
  • Same prices wherever you are
  • A fixed quote before booking

When to call us in Melness

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s generally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

Look out for any of the following:

  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour

What your quote should include

  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • How soon you can use it again
  • How the room is protected while they work
  • What preparation is included

Our hiring checklist

How we price coloured bath resurfacing

Resurfacing from £350. You won’t pay by the hour. The price depends on:

  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • The material
  • The size and number of damaged areas

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • Details of any past repairs
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size

Send us a picture of the damage and one of the whole item, with your IV27 postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.
