Coloured bath resurfacing in Milton Street without replacing anything

Most suites take one or two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. Common call-outs are for selling or letting a home with an old suite and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom, on coloured shower trays, avocado, pampas and pink baths and whole bathroom suites.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we will sort it. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

Repairing versus replacing in Milton Street

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one means a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Resurfacing changes the colour without taking anything out. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed price from your pictures, so you know the cost before booking.

What we’re called out for in Milton Street

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s usually the colour that dates them, not the condition.

These are the problems we’re asked about most:

  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom

What to look for in a quote

  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • Who turns up on the day
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • What preparation is included

Common questions in Milton Street

Is there any odour?

Expect a mild smell while we are working.

Can pets and children be at home?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, so the repair is not disturbed while it cures.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

The price is fixed for what the photos show. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

Are there extra charges for Milton Street?

Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it is not worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

How do I book?

Photos of the damage, a photo of the whole suite and your postcode. Then we’ll agree a date.

Can tenants book a repair?

Of course. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

Honest limits

Some jobs are not right for a repair, including:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

Materials we repair

  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured basins

What we do, step by step

Once we are through the door, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the job takes a day or two, depending on how many items, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. We leave everything to cure, normally until the following day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift

How we price coloured bath resurfacing

Resurfacing from £350. There is no area surcharge for Milton Street. What changes the price is:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • What the surface is made of
  • The size and number of damaged areas

We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Milton Street. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Send photos for a quote

Before you send pictures, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • A picture taken from further back
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

We price from pictures so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.

DIY kit or professional repair?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
