Coloured bath resurfacing in Montacute

How we price coloured bath resurfacing

Prices start from £350. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • Access to the area
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • What the surface is made of
  • How much damage there is

A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.

Getting a price from pictures

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Try to send:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • A picture taken from further back
  • Where you are, by postcode

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the suite, add your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

Coloured bath resurfacing in Montacute without replacing anything

Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there is no plumbing or tiling. Most suites take one or two days. We regularly repair coloured shower trays, avocado, pampas and pink baths and coloured basins, and people most often call us about faded or patchy colour and selling or letting a home with an old suite.

Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before booking. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

Montacute: your questions answered

Do you work in Montacute?

We do. We send a technician to Montacute for every job, with no extra charge for travel.

Is my repair covered?

All our work carries our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

Can you do the toilet too?

Talk to us first. The inside of a bowl is always wet and scrubbed, so we will tell you what will last.

Can you quote from pictures?

Usually, yes. Clear photos let us give you a fixed price without visiting.

Do you hold any accreditations?

We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

How do I get a price for coloured bath resurfacing in Montacute?

Prices start from £350. We give a fixed price based on pictures of the damage. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo and your postcode.

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

Generally, yes. Tell us what was done before and we’ll plan for it.

Honest limits

We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair will not do:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before you book.

What we work on

  • Coloured shower trays
  • Coloured basins
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths

What we are called out for in Montacute

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and many are still sound. The problem is typically the colour, not the bath.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom

Questions to ask before you book

  • What aftercare is recommended
  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
  • Who will actually do the work

How to compare quotes

Should you replace it?

Replacing a coloured suite means a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Resurfacing changes the colour with everything left in place. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Why us?

  • Free fixed quotes from pictures
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • No extra charge for your area
  • Rooms protected and left tidy

How it works

Once we’re through the door, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. We mask off everything nearby, the work takes one to two days for a full suite, depending on what we find, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Each item is left to cure, generally ready the next day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Ensure the area is dry
  • Let us know which floor the room is on

Can I fix it myself?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.
