How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in Moreland

We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, with no new plumbing or tiling. Most suites take one or two days. If you are dealing with a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom and selling or letting a home with an old suite, we can normally put it right.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover. Look after the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

DIY kit or professional repair?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

When a repair isn’t the answer

We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Coloured basins

What we are called out for in Moreland

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and many are still sound. It’s usually the colour that dates them, not the condition.

People typically call us when they notice something like this:

  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a coloured suite means a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Resurfacing turns it white without taking anything out. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. A repair normally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Why Moreland clients choose us

What we do, step by step

You do not need to empty the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and start once you are happy with the plan. It normally takes one to two days for a full suite, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. We leave everything to cure, normally until the following day.

How to prepare

  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated

How to get a price

The quickest way to a price is to send two or three photos using our quote form or call us. We’ll say right away whether it can be repaired.

Advice

What coloured bath resurfacing costs

Resurfacing from £350. You will know the full cost before booking. We take into account:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • How many areas need work
  • How easy the damage is to reach

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. You will see the full price before you book.

Send pictures for a quote

We price nearly every job from photos. This is what we need:

  • Any details about the material
  • A wider photo showing the entire suite
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Details of any past repairs

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the suite, include your postcode and send them to us. You’ll get a fixed quote, not an estimate.

Questions from Moreland

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.

Will you leave a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.

Can pets and children be at home?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we are working in. We’ll tell you when the room can be used again.

What happens once I’ve sent pictures?

We look at the photos and reply with a fixed price and some dates. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask for another photo.

Can landlords book you?

Yes. We carry out repairs for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses across Gloucestershire.

Do you cover Moreland?

Yes. We cover the whole UK and come to Moreland. Send pictures and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

We’re happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

How do I book?

Send photos through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we will take it from there.

For landlords and businesses

Letting agents frequently send us photos straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we’ll handle the rest.
