Coloured bath resurfacing for Newnham homes

Coloured bath resurfacing in Newnham, done in place

A full suite is typically done in one to two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there is no plumbing or tiling. Whether it’s faded or patchy colour and selling or letting a home with an old suite, we can generally put it right, on coloured shower trays, whole bathroom suites and coloured basins alike.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there’s a problem and we’ll sort it. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

When a repair isn’t the answer

Not everything can be repaired, and we’d rather say so up front. Repairs will not solve:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.

Surfaces we repair

  • Coloured basins
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured shower trays

Landlord and trade work in Newnham

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

If you manage property in Newnham, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send photos for each address and we’ll price them together.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Should you replace it?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one means a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Refinishing it in white turns it white without taking anything out. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

How it works

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we’ve agreed what we’re doing. Most jobs take one to two days for a full suite, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. The surface is prepared and primed.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Once cured, normally by the day after, the suite is ready.

Before we arrive

  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Ensure the area is dry

How to get a price

There is no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.

Advice

Newnham questions

Is it messy?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we’ve finished.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Usually, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we will say so.

Do you work in Newnham?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and come to Newnham and the rest of Hampshire. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time we agree with you.

How quickly can you book me in?

Your quote comes with available dates. If it’s urgent, say so and we’ll do what we can.

Is there a call-out fee?

No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Yes, regularly. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. A fixed quote means you know the cost before you book. We look at:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.

Quotes from your photos

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Natural light rather than flash

We price from photos so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and we will come back with a fixed figure.

What we are called out for in Newnham

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and many are still sound. The problem is normally the colour, not the bath.

Send us a photo if you notice any of these:

  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • Faded or patchy colour
