Coloured bath resurfacing for Padstow homes

How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in Padstow

Everything is resurfaced where it stands, with no new plumbing or tiling. A full suite is normally done in one to two days. We are often asked to fix selling or letting a home with an old suite and a dated coloured suite you’d like in white, across coloured basins, whole bathroom suites and coloured shower trays.

Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Work for landlords and builders

For anyone letting property in or around Padstow, we’ll quote for several properties at once. Send photos for each one and we’ll come back with a combined price.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Signs you need coloured bath resurfacing in Padstow

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and many are still sound. It’s normally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

These are the problems we are asked about most:

  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • Faded or patchy colour

How to compare quotes

What a repair can’t fix

We would rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so these are the limits:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.

Surfaces we repair

  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured basins
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured shower trays

What coloured bath resurfacing costs

Prices start from £350. We give every job a fixed price from photos. This is what makes a difference:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • How much damage there is
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it

What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Getting a price from photos

The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • Any details about the material
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area

There is no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

Repairing versus replacing in Padstow

Replacing a coloured suite involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing turns it white with everything left in place. Prices start from £350. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

What you get with us

  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Same prices wherever you are
  • We leave the room as we found it
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year

Read our pricing and resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.

The process

Here’s how a visit generally runs: we arrive at the agreed slot, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and clear up. Allow one to two days for a full suite from start to finish. Before we go, we will explain when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. The surface is prepared and primed.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. We leave everything to cure, typically until the day after.

Before we arrive

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive

Getting a price

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the suite, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

Padstow: your questions answered

Will the price change on the day?

If we find something the photos didn’t show, we explain it first. You decide whether to go ahead.

What about the toilet?

Talk to us first. The inside of a bowl is always wet and scrubbed, so we will tell you what will last.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

What happens next?

You get a fixed price and available dates. If we need another angle, we will ask.

Are you accredited?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it isn’t worth repairing, we will tell you.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Generally, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

Can landlords book you?

We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.
