Coloured bath resurfacing for Pewfall homes

How it works

Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so you know exactly what we’re doing. After that, protection goes down around the work area and the work begins. You can expect it to take one to two days for a full suite, and we’ll tell you if anything changes.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. We leave everything to cure, generally until the next day.

Getting ready for the visit

About our coloured bath resurfacing in Pewfall

We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there is no plumbing or tiling. A full suite is usually done in one to two days. We regularly repair whole bathroom suites, coloured basins and avocado, pampas and pink baths, and the jobs we see most are selling or letting a home with an old suite and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom.

You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything is not right, ring us and we will come back. Look after the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

Repairing versus replacing in Pewfall

Replacing a coloured suite means a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Refinishing it in white changes the colour with everything left in place. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for Pewfall. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

What you get with us

  • No extra charge for your area
  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
  • Free fixed quotes from pictures
  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface

Should I try a DIY kit first?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.

Questions from Pewfall

What happens if you find more damage?

We’ll show you and explain before doing anything extra. You will not be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

What information do you need?

Some pictures, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, we only need access to the room.

Will there be a smell?

Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, so we ventilate the room. It fades as everything cures.

Is there a call-out fee?

No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Normally, yes. The old repair comes out first, so mention it when you send pictures.

Can you price it without visiting?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures cannot show what we need.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit usually costs less than separate visits. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.

Do you come to Pewfall?

Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Pewfall and the rest of St Helens. Send photos and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Do you need coloured bath resurfacing in Pewfall?

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and many are still sound. It’s generally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

Send us a picture if you notice any of these:

  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour

What to look for in a quote

  • What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
  • A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
  • How the colour is matched
  • How to look after the finish

How to compare quotes

When we would advise against a repair

Not everything can be repaired, and we’ll tell you before we start. We cannot fix:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.

Materials we repair

  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Coloured basins
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths

Landlord and trade work in Pewfall

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover. We can visit several plots in one trip.

What affects the price in Pewfall

Resurfacing from £350. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • What the surface is made of
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it

Set against the cost of replacement, repairing generally costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

How to get a fixed quote

When you take your pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • A wider photo showing the whole suite

You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.
