Honest limits

Before booking, it’s worth knowing the limits:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Surfaces we repair

  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured basins
  • Coloured shower trays

About our coloured bath resurfacing in Phoenix Row

We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, with no new plumbing or tiling. Most suites take one or two days. Our technicians work on coloured shower trays, coloured basins and avocado, pampas and pink baths, and the jobs we see most are a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom and selling or letting a home with an old suite.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there’s a problem and we will come back. Care for the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

What we’re called out for in Phoenix Row

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and many are still sound. The problem is usually the colour, not the bath.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white

Before booking anyone

  • How the colour is matched
  • What aftercare is recommended
  • Whether the price covers travel
  • How long it needs to cure

Choosing a repair company

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a coloured suite means a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Refinishing it in white turns it white without taking anything out. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

What you get with us

  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • Free fixed quotes from pictures
  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited

See our pricing and resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

What happens on the day

Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, protect the area, and get on with the job, which normally takes one to two days for a full suite. If anything looks different from your pictures, we’ll talk to you before going ahead.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. The surface is prepared and primed.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. Each item is left to cure, generally ready the following day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Open a window if you can
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

Getting a price

Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote. Quotes are free and no obligation.

Advice

Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. You will not pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • The colour and finish to match
  • The material and finish

The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.

Send pictures for a quote

When you take your photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A picture taken from further back
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the suite, add your postcode and send them to us. You will get a fixed quote, not an estimate.
