Coloured bath resurfacing for Pitminster homes

About our coloured bath resurfacing in Pitminster

We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. A full suite is typically done in one to two days. We are often asked to fix selling or letting a home with an old suite and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom, in coloured shower trays, avocado, pampas and pink baths and coloured basins.

Every repair is covered by a one-year guarantee. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

When a repair isn’t the answer

Not everything can be repaired, and we will tell you before we start. Repairs won’t solve:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.

Surfaces we repair

  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Coloured basins
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths

DIY kit or professional repair?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Signs you need coloured bath resurfacing in Pitminster

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. The problem is usually the colour, not the bath.

Get in touch if you’ve noticed:

  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

What your quote should include

  • When it can be used again
  • What happens if they find more damage
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • Whether they match the colour on site

Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We look at:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • The type of damage
  • Access to the area
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Send pictures for a quote

Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • The material, if you know it
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price. There’s no charge for the quote and you are under no obligation.

Why repair rather than replace?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Resurfacing turns it white with everything left in place. Prices start from £350. Set against the cost of replacement, repairing normally costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Work for landlords and builders

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Pitminster: your questions answered

What happens if you find more damage?

We’ll show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.

Which areas do you work in?

All of Somerset, and the rest of the UK. There’s no extra charge for travel.

Do I have to be there?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.

What does coloured bath resurfacing cost?

Resurfacing from £350. Every job gets a fixed price from your photos. Send a close-up and a photo of the entire item with your TA3 postcode.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Most of the time. Let us know what was used before and we’ll plan for it.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Just keep them out of the work area. We’ll let you know when it’s safe to use again.

Do you do work for letting agents?

We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

How it works

On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll get on with it. The job generally runs to one to two days for a full suite, including clearing up.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. Each item is left to cure, typically ready the next day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Open a window if you can
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
