Powys questions
Do you cover Powys?
We do. Repair technicians travel to Powys from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
Just keep them out of the work area. We will tell you when the room can be used again.
What about the toilet?
Ask us. A toilet bowl is constantly wet, so we’ll tell you what will last.
Do I have to be there?
Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.
Can I get a quote without a visit?
Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.
Do you do work for letting agents?
We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.
Can tenants book a repair?
Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Landlords are often glad to have it sorted before the end of a tenancy.
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.
Why repair rather than replace?
Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Resurfacing turns it white with everything left in place. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Powys. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
What you get with us
- A fixed quote before booking
- Honest advice, even when it means no job
- No need to remove anything
- We leave the room as we found it
Read our pricing or guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.
When a repair isn’t the answer
It helps to know what we cannot do too:
- The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
- Items cracked right through
- Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)
Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before booking.
What we work on
- Coloured shower trays
- Avocado, pampas and pink baths
- Whole bathroom suites
- Coloured basins
Can I fix it myself?
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.
What coloured bath resurfacing costs
Prices start from £350. We give every job a fixed quote from photos. This is what makes a difference:
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- What the surface is made of
- How many items we do on one visit
- How easy the damage is to reach
A repair usually costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.
Quotes from your pictures
The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- One picture of the entire suite
- Details of any past repairs
Email us a photo of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, with your LD2 postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.
Work for landlords and builders
We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.
Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. Several plots can be done in one visit.
Common problems we fix in Powys
Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. The problem is usually the colour, not the bath.
Typical reasons for a call-out include:
- A suite that does not match a new bathroom
- Faded or patchy colour
- A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
- Selling or letting a home with an old suite
Comparing quotes
- Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
- How the colour is matched
- What happens if they find more damage
- A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included
How the visit works
On the day, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job usually takes a day or two, depending on how many items. We clean up when we’re done and let you know when you can use it again.
- The room is protected and ventilated.
- Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
- The surface is prepared and primed.
- We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
- We leave everything to cure, normally until the following day.
Getting ready for the visit
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
- Let us know about parking or access
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
How to get a price
Most customers in Powys get their price from photos. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.
