About our coloured bath resurfacing in Press
A full suite is usually done in one to two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. Typical jobs include a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and selling or letting a home with an old suite, in whole bathroom suites, coloured shower trays and avocado, pampas and pink baths.
Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do. Care for the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

Press: your questions answered
What do you need from me?
Some photos, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, access to the room.
Do you come to Press?
Yes. We work across the UK and come to Press and the rest of Derbyshire. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
Will it make a mess?
No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.
Are you accredited?
We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.
Do you do work for letting agents?
Yes. We carry out repairs for householders, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses in Press.
What if the damage is worse than the photos show?
If we find something the photos didn’t show, we explain it first. You decide whether to go ahead.
What happens after I send pictures?
We look at the pictures and reply with a fixed price and some dates. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask for another photo.
What areas do you cover?
The whole UK, including all of Derbyshire. Just include your postcode and we will confirm dates.
For landlords and businesses
Hospitality businesses cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so we keep visits short and tidy. We will fit around changeovers where we can.
Letting agents frequently send us photos straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.
Prices and what affects them
Resurfacing from £350. Prices are worked out job by job, from your photos. What matters most is:
- The material and finish
- The type of damage
- Unusual colours or finishes
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.
Quotes from your photos
Two or three clear pictures are generally enough. It helps if you send:
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- One picture of the entire suite
- One sharp close-up of the damage
Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us pictures through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire suite, we can give you a fixed price.
When to call us in Press
Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and many are still sound. The problem is typically the colour, not the bath.
The most common problems we’re called about are:
- Selling or letting a home with an old suite
- Faded or patchy colour
- A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
- A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
Before booking anyone
- Whether the price covers travel
- Whether the colour is mixed to match
- Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
- What the guarantee covers, and for how long
What we can’t put right
We’d rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so these are the limits:
- The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
- Items cracked right through
- Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)
Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.
What we work on
- Avocado, pampas and pink baths
- Whole bathroom suites
- Coloured basins
- Coloured shower trays
DIY repairs versus a professional job
For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
Why repair rather than replace?
Swapping a coloured suite for a white one means new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing changes the colour with everything left in place. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

What happens on the day
It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, protect the area, then carry out the work, which typically takes a day or two, depending on how many items. If anything looks different from your photos, we’ll talk to you before going ahead.
- First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
- Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
- We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
- We spray on the new finish in white or your chosen colour.
- Once cured, normally by the next day, the suite is ready.
How to prepare
- Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
- Ensure the room can be ventilated
- Let us know which floor the room is on
How to get a price
Upload photos of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, with your S42 postcode, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.
