About our coloured bath resurfacing in Rigside

Everything is resurfaced where it stands, with no new plumbing or tiling. Most suites take one or two days. Typical jobs include a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom and faded or patchy colour, across whole bathroom suites, coloured basins and avocado, pampas and pink baths.

All our work is covered by our one-year guarantee. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

What coloured bath resurfacing costs

Prices start from £350. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we look at:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How hard the colour is to match

We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Getting a price from pictures

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Try to send:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A wider photo showing the whole suite
  • The material, if you know it
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of pictures through our quote form or call us. We’ll say straight away whether it can be repaired.

Your questions about coloured bath resurfacing in Rigside

Are there extra charges for Rigside?

Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

How soon can you come?

That depends on our diary for your area. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes. We carry out repairs for householders, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Nearly always. If photos do not show enough, we will ask for another angle.

Do you come to Rigside?

Yes. We work across the UK and come to Rigside and the rest of South Lanarkshire. Send photos and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Normally, when the rest is in good condition. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we will say so.

Can you do the toilet too?

Ask us. The inside of a bowl is always wet and scrubbed, so we’ll advise honestly before quoting.

When a repair is not the answer

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair won’t do:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Materials we repair

  • Coloured basins
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured shower trays

What we do, step by step

When we visit, we arrive at the time we have agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take a day or two, depending on how many items. We clean up when we are done and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. The surface is prepared and primed.
  4. We spray on the new finish in white or your chosen colour.
  5. We leave everything to cure, usually until the following day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Make sure the area is dry
  • Point us to the nearest place to park

Getting a price

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the suite, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

Repairing versus replacing in Rigside

Replacing a coloured suite involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white turns it white with everything left in place. Prices start from £350. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. The full price is agreed before booking.

Work for landlords and builders

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

What we’re called out for in Rigside

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s usually the colour that dates them, not the condition.

Look out for any of the following:

  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white

What to look for in a quote

  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
  • How changes to the job are handled
  • How your room will be protected
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
