Need coloured bath resurfacing in Rumford?

Landlord and trade work in Rumford

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Rumford use us as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it normally costs far less than a refit.

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access.

How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in Rumford

We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. A full suite is usually done in one to two days. We work on avocado, pampas and pink baths, coloured shower trays and whole bathroom suites, and the jobs we see most are selling or letting a home with an old suite and faded or patchy colour.

Peace of mind is built in: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before you book. Look after the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

Rumford: your questions answered

Is it messy?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.

Will the price change on the day?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. You decide whether to go ahead.

Does someone need to be in?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You do not need to watch us work.

Is there a call-out fee?

No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.

What does coloured bath resurfacing cost?

Prices start from £350. Every job gets a fixed quote from your photos. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo and your postcode.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it is not worth repairing, we will tell you.

Can you quote from pictures?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.

How it works

Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, protect the area, then carry out the work, which normally takes one to two days for a full suite. If anything looks different from your photos, we’ll talk to you before going ahead.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray on the new finish in white or your chosen colour.
  5. We leave everything to cure, usually until the next day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Open a window if you can
  • Let us know which floor the room is on

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the whole suite, add your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

What a repair can’t fix

To be straight with you, there are a few things a repair will not fix:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.

Materials we repair

  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured basins
  • Coloured shower trays

Can I fix it myself?

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.

Common problems we fix in Rumford

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. The problem is generally the colour, not the bath.

The things customers generally mention when they call are:

  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Faded or patchy colour

What your quote should include

  • How long it needs to cure
  • Aftercare advice
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
  • Who turns up on the day

Our hiring checklist

Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. Each job gets its own fixed price. These are the things that affect it:

  • What the surface is made of
  • Access to the area
  • The type of damage
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

Rather than charging by the hour, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Send pictures for a quote

Phone pictures are fine, there is no need for anything special. Just make sure we can see:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Details of any past repairs
  • Any details about the material
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

Email us photos of the damage and one of the entire item, and tell us you are in Rumford, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

Should you replace it?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Resurfacing turns it white without taking anything out. Prices start from £350. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.
