Coloured bath resurfacing at your home in Salford

Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. A full suite is generally done in one to two days. Common call-outs are for faded or patchy colour and selling or letting a home with an old suite, in avocado, pampas and pink baths, coloured basins and coloured shower trays.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we’ll come back. Look after the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

Can I fix it myself?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

When we would advise against a repair

A repair isn’t always the answer, and we’ll tell you before we start. Repairs will not solve:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before booking.

What we work on

  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured basins

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. We don’t charge extra for travel to Salford. The price comes down to:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • How much damage there is
  • What the surface is made of
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

Set against the cost of replacement, repairing usually costs far less, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Quotes from your pictures

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of photos through our quote form or call us. We’ll tell you honestly whether it can be repaired.

What we do, step by step

Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, protect the area, then carry out the work, which normally takes a day or two, depending on how many items. If we find something your photos didn’t show, we will explain it before carrying on.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. Each item is left to cure, typically ready the day after.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

Getting a price

There’s no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Salford use us as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.

When to call us in Salford

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s normally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

Common reasons people in Salford contact us include:

  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

Questions to ask before booking

  • What preparation is included
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
  • If travel is included in the price
  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers

Salford questions

Can you repair several things at once?

Of course, and it normally saves money. Send pictures of everything together and you will get one combined price.

Is it messy?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.

Is there a call-out fee?

No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Can you quote from photos?

Nearly always. If photos do not show enough, we will ask for another angle.

Are you accredited?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

Do I need to be at home?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

Can a coloured bath be made white?

Yes. We resurface it in white with it left in place.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Resurfacing changes the colour without taking anything out. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.
