How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in Sandown

We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, with no new plumbing or tiling. A full suite is normally done in one to two days. Common call-outs are for faded or patchy colour and a dated coloured suite you’d like in white, across coloured basins, avocado, pampas and pink baths and whole bathroom suites.

Every job is backed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. We return to put right any problem with the work. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

Signs you need coloured bath resurfacing in Sandown

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. The problem is typically the colour, not the bath.

If you can see any of these, send us a picture:

  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

10 questions to ask before booking

What we cannot put right

A repair is not always the answer, and we would rather say so up front. Repairs won’t solve:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured basins
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Whole bathroom suites

The process

Your technician turns up at the time we agreed with you, introduces themselves and looks over the damage before anything else. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. The work itself takes one to two days for a full suite, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. We leave everything to cure, generally until the next day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Ensure the room can be ventilated
  • Make sure the area is dry
  • Keep a parking space free if you can

Advice

Should you replace it?

Replacing a coloured suite means new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing changes the colour with everything left in place. Prices start from £350. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.

What you get with us

Can I fix it myself?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

Work for landlords and builders

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Isle of Wight and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

What affects the price in Sandown

Prices start from £350. Every quote is fixed and free. What we take into account:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • What kind of damage it is
  • How many areas need work
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.

How to get a fixed quote

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • The material, if you know it
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them to us with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price. Quotes are free and you are under no obligation.
