Need coloured bath resurfacing in Setley?

About our coloured bath resurfacing in Setley

We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. A full suite is typically done in one to two days. Typical jobs include a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom, in whole bathroom suites, avocado, pampas and pink baths and coloured shower trays.

Peace of mind is built in: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

What affects the price in Setley

Resurfacing from £350. Prices are worked out job by job. The main factors are:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • How easy the damage is to reach

What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Getting a price from pictures

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:

  • Details of any past repairs
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Natural light rather than flash

The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of photos through our quote form or call us. We will say straight away if a repair is the right fix.

What we’re called out for in Setley

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and many are still sound. It’s typically the colour that dates them, not the condition.

People normally call us after spotting something like this:

  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

Before booking anyone

  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • How changes to the job are handled
  • If travel is included in the price

Setley questions

Can a coloured bath be made white?

Yes. It’s resurfaced in white where it stands.

Do you cover Setley?

We do. Repair technicians travel to Setley from across the region, with no extra charge for travel.

Are there extra charges for Setley?

We do not add a call-out fee. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

When can you do it?

That depends on our diary for your area. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Generally, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so let us know about it.

What about the toilet?

Ask us. A toilet bowl is constantly wet, so we’ll tell you what will last.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes, frequently. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

How it works

Here’s how a visit generally runs: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and tidy away. Plan for one to two days for a full suite from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and how to look after it.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. The surface is prepared and primed.
  4. We spray on the new finish in white or your chosen colour.
  5. Once cured, normally by the following day, the suite is ready.

Getting ready for the visit

Related advice

Should I try a DIY kit first?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

When we would advise against a repair

Not everything can be repaired, and we would rather say so up front. We cannot fix:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Coloured shower trays
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured basins

Repair or replace: which is better?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one means a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Resurfacing turns it white with everything left in place. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Why book with us

  • A fixed quote before booking
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
