Coloured bath resurfacing near Somerby

Coloured bath resurfacing in Somerby, done in place

A full suite is normally done in one to two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, with no new plumbing or tiling. We regularly repair whole bathroom suites, coloured basins and avocado, pampas and pink baths, and people most often call us about a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom and selling or letting a home with an old suite.

You’re covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote. Care for the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

When we’d advise against a repair

We’d rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before booking.

For landlords and businesses

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Common problems we fix in Somerby

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and many are still sound. The problem is typically the colour, not the bath.

Customers generally contact us about:

  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

How to compare quotes

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. We do not charge extra for travel to Somerby. The price comes down to:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • How much damage there is
  • The colour and finish to match
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

Compared with replacing, repairing usually costs far less, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

Quotes from your pictures

You can take the pictures on your phone, there is no need for anything special. Just make sure we can see:

  • One picture of the entire suite
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

We price from pictures so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through.

Your questions about coloured bath resurfacing in Somerby

What do you need from me?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. Then we’ll agree a date.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Can a coloured bath be made white?

Yes. We resurface it in white with it left in place.

What areas do you cover?

Everywhere in the UK, Somerby included. Travel is included in the price.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit typically costs less than separate visits. Send photos of everything you’d like done.

What happens if you find more damage?

Your quote covers the damage in the photos. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures cannot show what we need.

What about the toilet?

Talk to us first. A toilet bowl is constantly wet, so we’ll tell you what will last.

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a coloured suite means a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Resurfacing changes the colour without taking anything out. Prices start from £350. Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Why book with us

  • We’ll tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • No need to remove anything
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • One visit for most repairs

What we do, step by step

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, do the job and clear up. Plan for a day or two, depending on how many items from start to finish. Before we go, we will explain how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. Once cured, normally by the following day, the suite is ready.

Preparing for the visit

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
