Coloured bath resurfacing near Southam

Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. Prices are worked out job by job. The main factors are:

  • The material
  • Access to the area
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • How many areas need work

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before you book, with nothing added on the day.

How to get a fixed quote

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • One picture of the entire suite
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Details of any past repairs

Most clients in Southam get their price from photos. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll send back a fixed quote and some dates.

How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in Southam

Most suites take one or two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. We’re often asked to fix faded or patchy colour and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom, across avocado, pampas and pink baths, coloured basins and coloured shower trays.

We guarantee the work for a year. If something is not right in that time, we come back and put it right. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

Can I fix it myself?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.

The process

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we’ve agreed what we are doing. It normally takes one to two days for a full suite, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. Once cured, normally by the following day, the suite is ready.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Open a window if you can
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings

Getting a price

You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.

Work for landlords and builders

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We can work around your bookings.

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a coloured suite involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing turns it white with everything left in place. Prices start from £350. Compared with replacing, repairing typically costs far less, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

Why us?

  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • Repair technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
  • We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing

Signs you need coloured bath resurfacing in Southam

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and many are still sound. The problem is normally the colour, not the bath.

Look out for any of the following:

  • Faded or patchy colour
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white

Comparing quotes

  • What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
  • Who will actually do the work
  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
