Need coloured bath resurfacing in St Cyrus?

Coloured bath resurfacing at your home in St Cyrus

We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, with no new plumbing or tiling. A full suite is typically done in one to two days. Common call-outs are for a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom and selling or letting a home with an old suite, in coloured basins, coloured shower trays and avocado, pampas and pink baths.

We guarantee the work for a year. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

Repairing versus replacing in St Cyrus

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white turns it white with everything left in place. Prices start from £350. The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. You’ll see the full price before booking, with nothing added on the day.

St Cyrus questions

How do I book?

Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787, and we’ll do the rest.

What about the toilet?

Talk to us first. A toilet bowl is constantly wet, so we will advise honestly before quoting.

Do you cover the entire of Aberdeenshire?

The whole UK, including all of Aberdeenshire. Just include your postcode and we will offer you dates.

When can you do it?

That depends on our diary for your area. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. You won’t be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

Will there be a smell?

There may be a mild smell during the work, which fades afterwards.

What happens once I’ve sent pictures?

We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

The process

The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can carry on at home. Protection goes down first, then the work takes a day or two, depending on how many items. Before we leave, we explain the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. The surface is prepared and primed.
  4. We spray on the new finish in white or your chosen colour.
  5. We leave everything to cure, typically until the day after.

How to prepare

  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive

Should I try a DIY kit first?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

Common problems we fix in St Cyrus

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and many are still sound. It’s generally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

Contact us if you’ve noticed:

  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

When a repair is not the answer

We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair will not do:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

What affects the price in St Cyrus

Prices start from £350. We price every job individually. What matters most is:

  • How many areas need work
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • The material and finish
  • The type of damage

Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

How to get a fixed price

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • One picture of the entire suite

To get a price, send two or three pictures using our quote form or call us. We will say straight away if a repair is the right fix.
