What a repair cannot fix

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before booking.

What we work on

  • Coloured shower trays
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured basins

Coloured bath resurfacing in St Florence without replacing anything

Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. A full suite is usually done in one to two days. Our technicians work on avocado, pampas and pink baths, coloured basins and coloured shower trays, and people most often call us about selling or letting a home with an old suite and a dated coloured suite you’d like in white.

Every repair is covered by our one-year guarantee. Look after the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

Common problems we fix in St Florence

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s normally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

If you can see any of these, send us a picture:

  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

Before booking anyone

  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • How to care for the finish
  • How the colour is matched

10 questions to ask before you book

Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. We give every job a fixed price from pictures. This is what makes a difference:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • How much damage there is
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Unusual colours or finishes

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before you book, with no extras added later.

Quotes from your pictures

You can take the photos on your phone, there’s no need for anything special. Ensure they show:

  • One picture of the whole suite
  • The material, if you know it
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Details of any past repairs

There is no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

The process

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and clear up. Plan for one to two days for a full suite. Before we go, we will explain when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. Each item is left to cure, typically ready the next day.

How to prepare

  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Make sure the area is dry

Advice

DIY repairs versus a professional job

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
