What we’re called out for in Symbister

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s usually the colour that dates them, not the condition.

Get in touch if you’ve noticed any of these:

  • Faded or patchy colour
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white

Questions to ask before you book

  • If travel is included in the price
  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
  • A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included

Coloured bath resurfacing at your home in Symbister

Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. A full suite is usually done in one to two days. We regularly repair whole bathroom suites, coloured basins and coloured shower trays, and people most frequently call us about a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom and a dated coloured suite you’d like in white.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Symbister as everywhere else we work. Look after the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

What we cannot put right

We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair can’t fix:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Coloured shower trays
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured basins

Symbister: your questions answered

Can you price it without visiting?

Nearly always. If pictures do not show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit generally costs less than separate visits. Include pictures of each item.

Do you hold any accreditations?

We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Is there a call-out fee?

There is no separate call-out charge. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.

How much does coloured bath resurfacing cost in Symbister?

Prices start from £350. We give a fixed quote from your photos. Send a close-up and a photo of the entire item and your postcode.

Can landlords book you?

We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

What do you need from me?

Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787, and we’ll do the rest.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

The price is fixed for what the pictures show. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

Should you replace it?

Replacing a coloured suite involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white turns it white with everything left in place. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.

Why book with us

Should I try a DIY kit first?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

How the visit works

Your technician turns up when we said we would and checks the damage against your photos first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before any work starts. The work itself takes one to two days for a full suite, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. The surface is prepared and primed.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Each item is left to cure, generally ready the day after.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Ensure the area is dry
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Let us know which floor the room is on

How to get a price

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them to us with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote. Quotes are free and no obligation.

Advice

How we price coloured bath resurfacing

Resurfacing from £350. You will know the full cost before you book. We look at:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • The material
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Quotes from your photos

Before you send pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • One picture of the entire suite
  • One sharp close-up of the damage

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the whole suite, we can give you a fixed price the same day in most cases.
