How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in Tan-yr-allt

Everything is resurfaced where it stands, with no new plumbing or tiling. Most suites take one or two days. Whether it’s a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom and faded or patchy colour, we can help, on whole bathroom suites, coloured basins and coloured shower trays alike.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it. Look after the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

FAQs for Tan-yr-allt

What happens next?

You get a fixed quote and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we will ask for another photo.

Do I need to be at home?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You do not need to watch us work.

Do you hold any accreditations?

We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it isn’t worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Most of the time. Tell us what was done before.

What happens if you find more damage?

The price is fixed for what the photos show. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

What do you need from me?

Just pictures, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, access to the room.

Will it make a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.

For landlords and businesses

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Tan-yr-allt as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it usually costs far less than a refit.

How the visit works

Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you are not left guessing. Once we are there, the work takes one to two days for a full suite in most cases. We leave the room clean and ready to use once it has cured.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. Each item is left to cure, typically ready the following day.

Before we arrive

  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift

Ask for a price

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the entire suite, include your postcode and send them over. You’ll get a fixed price, not an estimate.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

What affects the price in Tan-yr-allt

Resurfacing from £350. We give every job a fixed quote from photos. These are the things that affect it:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • What the surface is made of
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • How much damage there is

A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Quotes from your pictures

Before you send photos, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A wider photo showing the whole suite
  • What it’s made of, if you know

To get a price, send a couple of pictures through our quote form or call us. We’ll say straight away if a repair is the right fix.

When to call us in Tan-yr-allt

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and many are still sound. The problem is usually the colour, not the bath.

People usually call us after spotting something like this:

  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom

Before you book anyone

  • How long it needs to cure
  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included
  • What aftercare is recommended

How to compare quotes

Should you replace it?

Replacing a coloured suite means new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing changes the colour with everything left in place. Prices start from £350. Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Why us?

  • Everything repaired in place
  • Colour-matched on site
  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • No extra charge for your area
