Coloured bath resurfacing in Terrick

What coloured bath resurfacing costs

Prices start from £350. We give every job a fixed quote from pictures. This is what makes a difference:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • How much damage there is
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

A repair typically costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Send photos for a quote

Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To make it quick:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Any details about the material
  • A photo taken from further back

Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them over with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed quote back. There’s no charge for the quote and no obligation.

How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in Terrick

Most suites take one or two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, with no new plumbing or tiling. We’re frequently asked to fix a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom and a dated coloured suite you’d like in white, in avocado, pampas and pink baths, coloured basins and whole bathroom suites.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Terrick as everywhere else we work. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

What happens on the day

We turn up at the time we agreed with you and checks the damage against your pictures first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before any work starts. The work itself takes a day or two, depending on how many items, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. We leave everything to cure, normally until the next day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Have a window or extractor fan available

Advice

Can I fix it myself?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.

Should you replace it?

Replacing a coloured suite involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing turns it white with everything left in place. Prices start from £350. Compared with replacing, repairing normally costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Landlord and trade work in Terrick

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

When we’d advise against a repair

Not everything can be repaired, and we’d rather say so up front. We can’t fix:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Coloured shower trays
  • Coloured basins
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Whole bathroom suites

When to call us in Terrick

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and many are still sound. It’s usually the colour that dates them, not the condition.

Send us a photo if you notice any of these:

  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

What your quote should include

  • How the room is protected while they work
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • Whether the price covers travel
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match

Our hiring checklist

Terrick: your questions answered

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

Can you turn my avocado bath white?

Yes. It’s resurfaced in white where it stands.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include photos of each item.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Yes, regularly. Removing the old work can add time, and that is in the quote.

Is there a call-out fee?

There’s no separate call-out charge. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.

Can you quote from photos?

In nearly every case. If photos do not show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.

Do the materials smell?

Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, so we ventilate the room. It fades as everything cures.

Do you come to Terrick?

Yes. We work across the UK and come to Terrick and the rest of Buckinghamshire. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
