Coloured bath resurfacing in The Grove without replacing anything

Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there is no plumbing or tiling. Most suites take one or two days. We work on coloured shower trays, avocado, pampas and pink baths and whole bathroom suites, and common reasons people get in touch are a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and selling or letting a home with an old suite.

You are covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

Landlords, agents and businesses in The Grove

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in The Grove use us as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one means new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing turns it white without taking anything out. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Why The Grove clients choose us

  • Free fixed quotes from pictures
  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited
  • Everything repaired in place
  • Usually one visit, start to finish

How we price coloured bath resurfacing

Prices start from £350. We charge the same across the UK, including The Grove. The price reflects:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • What kind of damage it is
  • What the surface is made of
  • The colour and finish to match

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. The full price is agreed before booking.

Getting a price from photos

Two or three clear pictures are typically enough. Try to include:

  • The material, if you know it
  • Details of any past repairs
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • One picture of the entire suite

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us pictures through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job without visiting.

The process

We turn up when we said we would and checks the damage against your photos first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. Most visits take a day or two, depending on how many items, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray on the new finish in white or your chosen colour.
  5. We leave everything to cure, typically until the day after.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Ensure the room can be ventilated
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work

How to get a price

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the suite, add your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

When we’d advise against a repair

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.

What we work on

  • Coloured basins
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Whole bathroom suites

DIY repairs versus a professional job

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

What we are called out for in The Grove

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s generally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour

Before booking anyone

  • How soon you can use it again
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the photos show
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • Who will actually do the work
