About our coloured bath resurfacing in The Grove

Everything is resurfaced where it stands, with no new plumbing or tiling. Most suites take one or two days. We work on whole bathroom suites, coloured shower trays and avocado, pampas and pink baths, and people most frequently call us about a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom and faded or patchy colour.

Peace of mind is built in: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before booking. Care for the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

When to call us in The Grove

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and many are still sound. It’s usually the colour that dates them, not the condition.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white

Questions to ask before booking

  • A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
  • How the colour is matched
  • How to care for the finish
  • What happens if they find more damage

10 questions to ask before you book

How it works

The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can stay at home while we’re there. Protection goes down first, then the work takes a day or two, depending on how many items. At the end we talk you through the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. We leave everything to cure, usually until the next day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

Getting a price

You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

Related advice

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a coloured suite involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Resurfacing turns it white without taking anything out. Prices start from £350. Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for The Grove. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

What you get with us

  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • Work done at your home or business
  • We’ll tell you if it’s not worth repairing

Should I try a DIY kit first?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

What a repair cannot fix

Some jobs are not right for a repair, including:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

What we work on

  • Coloured basins
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths

For landlords and businesses

We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we will arrange it.

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in The Grove as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.

What coloured bath resurfacing costs

Resurfacing from £350. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price depends on:

  • What the surface is made of
  • The colour and finish to match
  • How much damage there is
  • Whether we combine several jobs

What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Send pictures for a quote

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • The material, if you know it
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the suite, include your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

The Grove questions

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

Yes, we often do. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.

What do you need from me?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

Can a coloured bath be made white?

Yes. It’s resurfaced in white where it stands.

Is a repair better than a new one?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

Can you quote from pictures?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit generally costs less than separate visits. Send photos of everything you’d like done.

Is there a call-out fee?

We do not add a call-out fee. Your fixed quote includes everything.
