Coloured bath resurfacing for The Moor homes

How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in The Moor

Most suites take one or two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, with no new plumbing or tiling. We regularly repair coloured basins, avocado, pampas and pink baths and whole bathroom suites, and people most often call us about faded or patchy colour and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom.

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. Care for the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a coloured suite involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing changes the colour with everything left in place. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

Why us?

  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • Free fixed quotes from pictures
  • No need to remove anything
  • One-year guarantee on every repair

When a repair is not the answer

We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair will not do:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

What affects the price in The Moor

Resurfacing from £350. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We look at:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • How much damage there is

No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

How to get a fixed quote

Before you send photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Any details about the material

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us pictures through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job.

Common problems we fix in The Moor

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and many are still sound. The problem is normally the colour, not the bath.

The most common problems we’re called about are:

  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

What your quote should include

  • How the colour is matched
  • How the room is protected while they work
  • What aftercare is recommended
  • Who will actually do the work

Our hiring checklist

Landlord and trade work in The Moor

If you manage property in The Moor, we’ll quote for several properties at once. Send photos for each one and we’ll come back with a combined price.

Letting agents frequently send us pictures straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

The process

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, protect the area, then carry out the work, which generally takes one to two days for a full suite. If we find something your photos didn’t show, we’ll explain it before carrying on.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. The surface is prepared and primed.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. Each item is left to cure, usually ready the following day.

How to prepare

  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

Related advice

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.

Questions from The Moor

Is it safe with children and pets around?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, so the repair isn’t disturbed while it cures.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Normally, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We will tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

How soon can you come?

We’ll give you dates with your quote. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Generally, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so let us know about it.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

What happens after I send photos?

You’ll get a fixed quote back, plus dates. There’s no obligation to book.

Do you cover the whole of Kent?

Everywhere in the UK, The Moor included. Travel is included in the price.

Will there be a smell?

Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the materials cure.
