Coloured bath resurfacing for Throckley homes

Coloured bath resurfacing in Throckley, done in place

Most suites take one or two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, with no new plumbing or tiling. We work on whole bathroom suites, coloured shower trays and avocado, pampas and pink baths, and common reasons people contact us are a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and faded or patchy colour.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there is a problem and we’ll sort it. Care for the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

DIY kit or professional repair?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

What a repair can’t fix

In fairness, some problems need a different fix:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.

Work for landlords and builders

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so we keep visits short and tidy. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Throckley as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.

Throckley: your questions answered

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

Most of the time. Tell us what was done before.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes, often. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

What about the toilet?

Talk to us first. A toilet bowl is constantly wet, so we’ll tell you what will last.

Will you leave a mess?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.

What happens after I send pictures?

We come back with a fixed price. You are under no obligation.

Are you accredited?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

Can a coloured bath be made white?

Yes. We resurface it in white with it left in place.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Typically, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.

Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. You will not pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • How much damage there is

No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Quotes from your photos

We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what to send:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • One picture of the entire suite
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire suite, we can give you a fixed quote without visiting.

Do you need coloured bath resurfacing in Throckley?

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and many are still sound. The problem is typically the colour, not the bath.

These are the problems we’re asked about most:

  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • Faded or patchy colour

10 questions to ask before booking

Should you replace it?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one means a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Resurfacing turns it white without taking anything out. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Why book with us

  • Everything repaired in place
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • Fixed prices from your photos
  • Most jobs done in one visit

What we do, step by step

When we visit, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job normally takes one to two days for a full suite. We clean up when we are done and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. The surface is prepared and primed.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. We leave everything to cure, normally until the day after.

How to prepare

  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
