Coloured bath resurfacing at your home in Tresillian

A full suite is typically done in one to two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, with no new plumbing or tiling. We regularly repair coloured basins, whole bathroom suites and avocado, pampas and pink baths, and the jobs we see most are a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it. Look after the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

What coloured bath resurfacing costs

Prices start from £350. We charge the same across the UK, including Tresillian. The price reflects:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • The material
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • How many areas need work

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.

Getting a price from photos

Before you send pictures, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

There’s no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.

Should you replace it?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Resurfacing changes the colour with everything left in place. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Questions from Tresillian

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Yes, regularly. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

What areas do you cover?

The entire UK, including all of Cornwall. Send your postcode with your pictures and we will confirm dates.

What happens next?

We come back with a fixed price, usually with dates to choose from. You’re under no obligation.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Usually, when the rest is in good condition. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.

Are there extra charges for Tresillian?

No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged.

Work for landlords and builders

If you manage property in Tresillian, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send photos for each address and we’ll price them together.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

What we’re called out for in Tresillian

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and many are still sound. It’s usually the colour that dates them, not the condition.

The things clients generally mention when they call include:

  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom

10 questions to ask before booking

How it works

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and tidy away. Plan for one to two days for a full suite from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. Once cured, normally by the day after, the suite is ready.

Preparing for the visit

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Let us know about parking or access

What we cannot put right

A repair is not right for every job, for example:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured basins
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured shower trays

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.
